Who We Are

Lee and Christine Gedansky began studying dance in 1991, in preparation for their wedding, and have been dancing ever since.  After their wedding, they continued to study and practice dance as a pastime, competing in regional competitions between 1994 and 1997, receiving

over a dozen gold and silver medals combined, as well a top student and showcase awards.

In 1998, they left Arthur Murray studios to study and practice independently.  In addition to continuing their private instruction, Lee and Christine have traveled to New York, Los Angeles, DC, and even New Orleans, to study and practice their dancing.  In the summer of 2002, armed with 11 years of training and  experience, and the idea of bringing social, ballroom, dancing to people through community based dance programs and special events, they decided to open their own company, and Beginning Ballroom, was born.
